Maps, Transportation & Parking

Transportation: As a two square mile community, Cape May is very accessible by walking and bicycling throughout the town.  While Cape May treasures its narrow, tree-lined roadways which provide an aesthetically pleasing streetscape, sidewalks and bicycle lanes promote healthy exercise as visitors explore historical, cultural, and environmental points of interest.  During the summer season, a trolley service shuttles residents and visitors to shopping, dining, and beach destinations within the City.  Licensed taxi cab service is available on a year round basis.  Commercial bus service is provided by New Jersey Transit to and from neighboring resort communities as well as metropolitan cities such as New York and Philadelphia on a daily scheduled basis throughout the year.

Parking: Metered and unmetered parking is available throughout Cape May on most streets.  Parking meters are seasonal from 10 am to 10 pm for the period from May 1st through October 31st.
EXCEPTION: Parking Meters in the following areas are extened from April 1 to December 31 10am - 10pm (3) Hour Time Limit:

  • Carpenter's Lane - Perry Street to Ocean Street
  • Lyle Lane - Decatur Street to Perry Street
  • Mansion Street - Jackson Street to Perry Street
     

  Most visitors leave their vehicles parked once they arrive in Cape May and simply find it easier to traverse the City by walking, bicycling, and/or Jitney service.
